La 1er Cumbre Joven Unión Europea - América Latina y el Caribe se celebrará en la ciudad de Madrid del 7 al 9 de mayo del 2010. Esta Cumbre tiene como objetivo resaltar los desafíos a los que se enfrentan los jóvenes además de renforzar el rol de la cooperación juvenil como una herramienta efectiva para abordar temas globales, sin olvidar el principio del multilateralismo en la colaboración entre organizaciones juveniles e instituciones. En esta ocasión se esperan más de 260 participantes de Europa y Latinoamérica y el Caribe. El Comité Organizador de la I Cumbre Joven Unión Europea – América Latina y el Caribe cuenta con el apoyo de diversas organizaciones juveniles e institutos miembros del Comité Preparatorio. El Comité se compromete a cubrir los costes de desplazamiento, alojamiento y manutención (comidas y transporte local)

Además, los posibles candidatos deben de cumplir con los siguientes requisitos:
- Tener entre 18 y 35 años de edad
- Tener la capacidad para presentar los diferentes puntos de vista y la política de la organización del envio.
- Participar activamente en la labor de la organización de envío.
- Ser capaz de demostrar el valor de su participacion en relacion con la cooperacion con Europa - America Latina y el Caribe.
- Tener un efecto multiplicador (ser capaz de difundir los resultados de la cumbre de su propia organizacion y de los países)
- Estar dispuesto a contribuir activamente a los debates y comprometerse a participar en toda la Conferencia.
- Dominio de al menos una de las dos lenguas oficiales (español / inglés)
- Contar con el respaldo de las plataformas regionales de juventud u organizaciones juvenilesinternacio nales, a traves de las que se canalizará la convocatoria.

I Youth Summit
EUROPEAN UNION – LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN YOUTH SUMMIT –
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The 1st European Union – Latin America and the Caribbean Youth Summit in Madrid from 7th – 9th May 2010. This Summit aims to make visible the challenges young people face, and to reinforce the role of youth cooperation as a useful tool to undertake global issues, bearing in mind the principle of multilateralism in the partnership between youth organizations and institutions. On this occasion, over 260 from Europe, Latin-America and the Caribbean will be participating. The Organizing Committee of the I EULAC Youth Summit is supported by several youth organizations and institutions, which are members of the established Preparatory Committee. The Organizing Committee will cover all travel, accommodation and meals costs (including local transportation) during the whole duration of the meeting.
In order to apply, all candidates must complete the on-line application form before 15/03/2010 at www.cumbrejovenueal c.org/en/
In addition, prospective candidates must meet the following requirements:
- To be between 18 and 35 years old.
- To be able to represent the views from the sending organization.
- To actively participate (as volunteer, Young worker, leader) in the sending organization.
- To be able to demonstrate the added value of his/her participation regarding the EULAC youth cooperation.
- To guarantee a multiplication effect (be able to disseminate the results of the youth Summit within his/her organization and country).
- To have the will to actively contribute to the debates and to participate in the Summit .
- To be able to communicate in at least one of the working languages (Spanish and English).
- To be supported by a regional youth platform or an international organization.
- The Working languages will be English and Spanish. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided for the plenary sessions and working groups.
